SUNDOWNER (the word denotes an evening drink, a “sunset cocktail”) returns to the amber theme already touched on in Amber Flash. Here, in a dense amber liqueur, spices (Eau D'Epices), resins (Au Coeur du Désert), and candied orange peel (Orange Star) slowly dissolve. The first sip is unhurried; warmth spreads through the body, and you can almost hear music. Not hookah rap, but something chamber-like from the 19th century where spices converse with florals, and the signature powdery touch of Les Années 25 appears. The base notes enter: nagarmotha and patchouli, which here register almost like oud, thanks to a clear animalic undertone reminiscent of L'Oudh. A sandy-mineral incense emerges too, and Andy flashes a wide smile.
